An American Airlines flight has made an emergency landing at San Francisco International Airport after some of the interior cabin’s wall panels cracked loose.
The landing was uneventful and all of the 184 passengers and six crew members are safe and uninjured, according to airline spokesman, Matt Miller.
The Dallas-bound flight had to return to San Francisco where it had just departed from due to issues with the air duct. There was apparently no depressurisation in the cabin as a result.
The captain of the Boeing 757 decided to turn around an hour into the flight after viewing the “buckled” panels himself.

Passengers on the plane were disconcerted by the appearance of the plane falling apart even though oxygen masks didn’t deploy.

Aviation safety experts said that while it is disconcerting for passengers to see any piece of the plane break, the cabin's wall panels are not part of the plane's structure.
The plane will remain out of commission until the damage can be fixed.
The passengers are still in San Francisco and American Airlines plans to send a plane from elsewhere to fly them to Dallas.
